3Motion is a film that celebrates the 3M pattern, a reflective pattern that is used across the country on the vast majority of road signs. The 3Motion project bridged physical and digital design resulting in an interactive projection experience.
The base of the project was the 12ft by 6ft wall that was constructed using the geometric square construction that the 3M pattern is based upon. Using footage captured from a camera attached to a road sign, a film was created that could be projected onto the geometric 3M surface.
